• About Mediterranean Biodiversity •

Mediterranean climate areas are rare and occupy only about 2% of Earth´s total surface area. They are very important for the conservation of biodiversity containing 20% of the world´s flora. The Mediterranean region is home to 15 to 20.000 species according to the IUCN and is consequently considered to be a biodiversity hotspot. The region therefore requires urgent conservation measures to try to stop species loss and preserve the existing biodiversity for future generations to come.

The present economic crisis is only worsening the situation, so your help/donation is indispensable to prevent further degradation and to stabilise the present situation and then start to re-establish the lost Mediterranean biodiversity.
